We reference the term “Investor Coach” in several places on our website. An Investor Coach is a fee-based, independent, registered investment advisor, who:

  1. EDUCATES clients with ongoing classes about the discipline to stay with proven diversified investment strategies.
  2. MEASURES the risk of investments.
  3. CREATES the appropriate portfolio for you.
  4. REBALANCES your portfolio periodically to keep your risk parameters in line.

A coach is someone who sometimes must tell you what you don’t want to hear, who has you see what you sometimes can’t see, so you can become the best you can be. It’s a long definition, so that’s why we simplify it to “Investor Coach”.

On a football field, during a game, things move fast. Out there, with 3rd down and long yardage in the last 2 minutes of a game, would you want a planner to help you? Imagine. A guy in a suit strolls out on the field with a whiteboard and starts talking about winning plans. By the time he’s done, the game is over, and you’ve lost.

During a heated competition, which is what any day on Wall Street can be, you want a coach. Someone you’ve worked with and trust, someone who is not afraid to roll up his sleeves, step in the mud with you, and give you that winning play.

We are Investor Coaches because we work with you in training, making sure we both have a clear understanding of the game plan, and then we encourage you throughout the game. Tom Landry once said, “A coach is someone who sometimes must tell you what you don’t want to hear, who has you see what you sometimes can’t see, so you can become the best you can be.” Investor Coaches have your back – they don’t represent certain products or certain companies, they represent you!
